SkyBound ("we," "our," or "us") operates the SkyBound mobile application and the websites findballoonrides.com and skybounddashboard.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and password (securely hashed). Pilots additionally provide business name, bio, certifications, profile photos, and pricing details. Crew members provide their name and phone number.

Location Data

With your permission, we collect precise GPS location data including latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, and heading. During active flights this data is collected continuously (including in the background) to power real-time flight tracking, crew navigation, and flight logging. Location data is also used for the pilot search feature to show nearby pilots.

Flight Data

We record flight tracks, duration, distance, altitude profiles, and related statistics in your flight log. Team members can see your live position during active flights.

Messages & Communications

Messages sent through the in-app messaging system are stored to facilitate communication between pilots, crew, and customers. We may send email notifications for new messages and booking updates.

Booking & Payment Information

Pilots who use our booking and invoicing features store customer names, emails, booking dates, and pricing. All payment card information is processed directly by Stripe and is never stored on our servers.

Device Information

We collect device push notification tokens to deliver notifications. Biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID) credentials are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide real-time flight tracking and crew coordination
  • Display your pilot profile in our directory (commercial plans)
  • Deliver weather forecasts for your launch coordinates
  • Send push notifications and email alerts for messages, bookings, and flight events
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe
  • Maintain flight logs and analytics for your account
  • Improve and maintain our services

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as follows:

  • Team members: Your live position, altitude, and flight data are shared with members of your team during active flights.
  • Public profile: If you are on a commercial plan, your profile information (name, bio, photos, offerings) is publicly visible.
  • Service providers: We use Supabase (database & authentication), Stripe (payments), Mailgun (email delivery), Open-Meteo (weather data), and Apple Push Notification Service (notifications).
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase with PostgreSQL and Row-Level Security policies. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Payment information is handled entirely by Stripe under PCI DSS compliance. Biometric credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain and never leave your device.

6. Your Rights & Choices

  • Location: You can disable location permissions at any time through your device settings. Flight tracking requires location access to function.
  • Push notifications: You can disable notifications in your device settings.
  • Account deletion: Contact us to request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Data export: You may request a copy of your data by contacting us.

7. Third-Party Services

Our app integrates with the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

  • Supabase (database and authentication)
  • Stripe (payment processing)
  • Mailgun (email delivery)
  • Open-Meteo (weather forecasts)
  • Google Calendar API (optional calendar sync)
  • Apple Push Notification Service
  • MapLibre (map rendering)

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
